Message From the Chair

Dear PRAM Colleagues,

A warm welcome to PRAM and our web site.  We hope that you will be able to find answers to your questions about AAM’s Public Relations and Marketing Committee, including up-to-date information on PRAM activities, contacts, professional development opportunities, and regional initiatives. We also hope that you will come to use this site and our PRAM list-serve as a resource for best practices and as a way to stay in touch with your colleagues in the field. Send us your favorite web sites, blogs, newsletters, must-read, must-see guides. Let us know what inspires you and please share your favorite resources with your fellow members.

It is thanks to the hard-working and endlessly creative volunteer members of the PRAM Board that the committee has so much to offer, including a growing membership program, regional workshops, networking opportunities, sessions and receptions at AAM’s Annual Meeting, fellowships, webinars, an e-newsletter, and more!

We are incredibly grateful to the staff and Board of Trustees at AAM for the work they do to inspire us and advance the profession.   They have just launched a new strategic plan for AAM, called “The Spark.”

From AAM’s website:  “’The Spark’ is the first strategic plan in AAM’s recent history that contains a set of beliefs, values and goals that we are passionate about, will guide our decision making and will drive the Association’s behavior and activities into the future. It articulates a vision for museums, the field, and AAM. We have reworked our mission of AAM to highlight our strong commitment to leadership, advocacy, collaboration and service.

‘The Spark’ contains four goals: excellence, advocacy, sustainability and alignment. These goals will serve as a guidepost to all of our endeavors as we work collectively with our museum colleagues, key stakeholders and supporters of the broader museum field.”

Thank you for your support of PRAM and AAM. There is no better time to be engaged with colleagues from the Museum community and PRAM is an excellent resource to help you navigate your way through these difficult times.  Please be an active participant and let your voice be heard!
