2011 AAM Annual Meeting Fellowships

Eligibility Requirements
Two fellowships are available. One is for a newcomer to the museum field (fewer than 5 years) and one is for a seasoned professional (5 years or more), and applicants must work primarily in the area of marketing, public relations or (non-scholarly) publications.

Number of Awards and Amount
Fellowship funds are to assist with the cost of conference registration, ticketed events and travel. Fellowship recipients will be eligible to register for the conference at AAM’s early bird rate.
•               Newcomer Fellowship - $1,000
•               Seasoned Professional Fellowship - $1,000

A complimentary PRAM membership will be provided if the recipient is not currently a committee member, and PRAM will assign an experienced member to act as a mentor to the Newcomer Fellowship recipient during the conference.

Application
Eligible applicants should apply by sending:

• Letter of interest (no more than 2 pages) which: 
               - discusses your current responsibilities,
               - the value to you and your museum of your attending the annual meeting, 
               - How critical the financial award would be to your ability to attend the conference and (for the Newcomer Fellowship) 
                - Paragraph (100 - 150 words) on the most pressing work-related issue you are currently facing, so that an appropriate PRAM mentor can be identified.
• Current resume
• Letter of endorsement from your museum’s director or immediate supervisor.
